Optimo Underfloor Fixings
Description
Optimo Underfloor Fixings are designed to securely support Bradford Optimo Underfloor Insulation Batts in suspended timber floors. They help keep insulation firmly in place, preventing batts from sagging or moving over time and ensuring long-term thermal performance.
Two fixing options are available to suit different installation methods in new and existing homes.
Available Options
Optimo Saddles – New Builds
Optimo Saddles are used when installing underfloor insulation during the construction of a new home. They sit across the top of timber floor joists and support the insulation batt before the flooring is installed.
- Designed for new build installations.
- Supports insulation between suspended timber floor joists.
- Suitable for 45mm wide timber joists.
- Fastens to joists using staples, nails or screws.
Optimo Straps – Existing Homes
Optimo Straps are designed for retrofit installations where access is from underneath an existing suspended timber floor. The straps are fixed to the underside of the joists to support friction-fit insulation batts.
- Designed for existing homes and retrofit installations.
- Supports insulation between timber floor joists.
- Ideal where joist spacing varies or around plumbing and wiring.
- Install using galvanised screws or nails.

Installation Guide
- Position saddles or straps at a maximum spacing of 500mm along the floor joists.
- Support both sides of each insulation batt.
- Ensure insulation fits snugly between the joists with no gaps.
- Take care around electrical wiring and services during installation.
